New lecithin fractions

Berg+Schmidt has announced new lecithin fractions to its successful BergaMuls product line. Its hydrolysed lyso-lecithin and hydrated lecithin give customers a wide selection of natural emulsifiers for many applications.

The company has also extended its shea butter range, with BergaCare SB Organic. In cooperation with its sister company Sternchemie, this shea butter has been certified by the respected certification organisation Ecocert Deutschland GmbH as ‘Bio/Organic’ (certification body DE-ÖKO-024). Because of shea’s good miscibility with oils and other non-polar and medium-polar ingredients, it integrates well into all formulations. With its high percentage of oleic acid, stearic acid and unsaponifiable matter, shea enhances the skin compatibility and healing effect of cosmetics.

The trend to naturalness is also evident in peelings. The environmentally-friendly new BergaScrub product range let manufacturers formulate without synthetic polyethylene beads.

Another new product is GlyAcid, a high-purity glycolic acid from CrossChem. GlyAcid is free of formaldehyde and formic acid, and is available in 70% solution and in 99% crystalline form.

In addition to emollients, emulsifiers, surfactants, stabilisers and consistency agents, the company also continues to offer an attractive range of high-quality fatty alcohols, fatty acids, fatty acid esters, lecithin and shea butter.
