The dates for Making Cosmetics are 12-13 March 2013. It will take place at the NMM Exhibition Centre, Birmingham UK. The venue is close to major road networks and also to Birmingham International Airport. Making Cosmetics is free to attend – including all the seminars, workshops, demonstrations and the exhibition.
Seminars and workshops
The two-day seminar programme at Making Cosmetics includes more than 50 presentations, plus four one-hour workshops, covering every stage of developing personal care products and taking them from concept to consumer. Within the programme, visitors will find all the information they need to develop, source, manufacture, outsource, package and market cosmetics that are fit for purpose, stable and compliant. The full seminar programme can be viewed online (www.making-cosmetics.com/seminarprogramme). This year, every presentation and workshop has been given a ‘chilli rating’, to help visitors pick out content pitched at the right level for their needs and interests. ‘One-chilli’ sessions provide an overview or introduction to a topic. Non-technical and jargonfree, they are ideal for anyone seeking to enhance their overall industry awareness and knowledge. ‘Two-chilli’ presentations tackle the subject matter in greater detail and are ideal for people with experience who are looking to expand their knowledge in a key subject area. For anyone already working at a high level in the industry, but who may want to hear a presentation that addresses its subject matter in expert technical detail then the ‘three-chilli’ seminars are ideal for them. It is also possible to search the online seminar programme by chilli rating, as well as subject area (see www.makingcosmetics. com), making it easier than ever to find the most appropriate content, and get the most from time spent at Making Cosmetics. The Making Cosmetics seminar and workshops programme is well-balanced, covering many of the key issues in the personal care market – particularly also dealing with the changes in forthcoming regulations in July 2013. The programme is outlined in Table 1.
A comprehensive exhibition
From its highly successful launch, the Making Cosmetics exhibition has doubled in size. The two-day exhibition brings together more than 80 suppliers, manufacturers, associations and consultants – presenting all the equipment, services, information and expertise needed to make and market cosmetics to the highest standards. The exhibition is a vital opportunity to assess and discuss contract manufacturing, Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and hygiene, measurement, testing and analysis, packaging, processing and manufacturing equipment, and other specialist services and products with leading suppliers. Many exhibitors will also be presenting their latest research and technical information in the seminar programme (www.making-cosmetics.com/seminarprogramme) which runs alongside the exhibition throughout the two days. The current exhibitor list is shown in Table 2.
