The 57th SEPAWA Congress and EDCConference from 13 to 15 October 2010 will be held in Fulda for the first time. The event will also be a first the DGK (German Society for Scientific and Applied Cosmetics) for whom 2010 will be their first Congress.
The competences of four large expert associations of the industry – SEPAWA e.V., GDCh-Specialized Group Detergent Chemistry, DGP (German Society of Perfumers) and DGK are thus united in Fulda. A new programme structure will ensure the high quality of the event and is hoped to generate intensive discussions. The exhibition at the Esperanto Congress- Center will also grow extensively in size once more. Although the exhibition area at the Esperanto Congress and Cultural Center in Fulda has been enlarged from 145 to 165 exhibition stands in connection with the move to Fulda, the high demand makes a further enlargement of the exhibition area necessary. Fulda is among the many beautiful and ancient mid-size German cities where the free flow of SEPAWA-communication is sure to continue “after hours”. At the new location in Fulda, SEPAWA Congress and EDC-Conference will present their new outfit. Once again in the spirit of departure the organisers are using the opportunity to enhance the attractiveness of the event for scientists, users and business people by introducing new features.
Claim substantiation
Following intensive preliminary discussions, the DGK will also be involved in the programme. The theme of “Effectiveness in Cosmetics“, which is featured by the DGK (German Society for Scientific and Applied Cosmetics) is of great interest to the industry since effects promised in advertisements must also be fulfilled in reality. Current in vitro and in vivo models in connection with this question will be presented. The introduction of brand new products will draw the attention of visitors to the “Forum for New Products“. Presentations with short registration deadlines as well as more creative freedom, allow for a comprehensive overview of the most up-to-date market trends. SEPAWA will present a condensed, but nonetheless high quality lecture series entitled “Formulation Technology”. Renowned specialists will introduce their latest scientific elucidations and the experiences of users in this field. The programme of the EDC-Conference will also give examples of its internationally recognised capacities. This conference mainly concentrates on the interactions between polymers and surfactants, with a focus on ionic systems. One special feature of the 57th SEPAWACongress will be the “Forum for News”. Here you can present your innovations to potential customers and all other visitors. All of this demonstrates that especially this SEPAWA Congress will allow you to look over the fence. Listen to the key note lecture of Dr André Laschewsky with a view to new research results. The lecture from Prof Dr Horst W. Opaschowski (pictured) will look into the future and observe markets of today and tomorrow together with Wolfgang Twardawa from GfK Group, one of the largest international market research companies in the world. His lecture entitled “Rethink Prosperity: How the next generation will live”, will encourage lively discussions. This year the DGP-Session is held under the motto: “Perfumes are the feelings of flowers”. As always, students and graduates of industry-related study fields are invited to attend the event free of charge. At the start of the event students with the most outstanding work from their graduation year will be awarded with prizes. The variety of subjects from basic science, applied science, applications, and not to forget, practice, is a main characteristic of the congress. The European Detergents Conference (EDC) developed and organised in close cooperation with the specialised group, Detergent Chemistry, of the Society of German Chemists (GDCh) has meanwhile established its place in the international community. Moreover the congress will be enriched by contributions of the SEPAWA incorporated German Society of Perfumers.
