The latest advances in a wide variety of market segments will be showcased at the in-cosmetics Asia exhibition in Singapore. A huge amount of emphasis will be placed on developments with naturals, and of much interest will be how significant steps forward have been taken with sunscreens and colours.
Among other notable moves ahead being promoted will be minicapsule technology and an approach to skin care the combines nutritional supplementation and topical product application. Highlighted by Galaxy will be GalSORB Octocrylene, which is used as an oil soluble UVB filter in sunscreen formulations in association with approved UVA absorbers. GalSORB, 2-Cyano-3, 3-diphenylacrylic acid, 2’-ethylhexyl ester, is oil soluble and photostable. It is a useful UVB absorber for water resistant formulations, and it facilitates dissolution of other solid sunscreens like Avobenzone and Benzophenone-3 in a formulation. Further, it protects other photo-degradable sunscreens such as Avobenzone, and is an excellent SPF booster.
DSM Nutritional Products will be bringing “24 hour protection and care” to in-cosmetics Asia, highlighting wide range of cosmetic products. DSM’s Parsol UV filters have a seal of guarantee to achieve maximum protection against UVA and UVB radiation in products, therefore preventing premature signs of photo-ageing. The company’s Alpaflor eco-certified plant extracts allow formulators to develop effective products that address the growing demand for natural-based cosmetics. In addition, its trusted high quality vitamins have shown proven benefits over the years. The team at DSM can offer its customers the development of innovative concepts and original formulations suitable for any time of day. From morning to night, the company’s ingredients and special formulations work to protect the skin from the sun, to moisture or energise the skin, and to provide complete anti-ageing treatment.
