The International Federation of the Societies of Cosmetic Chemists (IFSCC) has announced that its KOSMET literature database has now over 48,000 entries.
KOSMET is a bibliographic database covering literature on cosmetic, toiletry and perfumery science and technology. The database increasingly also covers other cosmetic-related scientific publications, such as those with content on toxicology and dermatology issues, as well as supplier information on new cosmetic ingredients and technologies. The database contains literature abstracts and is intended for a quick, comprehensive survey search. It does not contain full papers, but in most cases full source and address details are given so that users may contact the author or publisher if further information is needed. The database is available through providers such as STN International, Nerac, and DataStar. Direct research is also possible through IFSCC’s website www.KOSMET.com Investigations can be made by key words on actual and historical (approximately from the 1960s onwards) cosmetic subjects. The IFSCC says its KOSMET online database is a valuable, low-cost information resource that is extremely helpful for daily formulation work or scientific research and other academic work. With one-stop searching, information is available from more than 50 scientific and commercial sources and over 130 scientific conferences/events.
