NATRUE, the international natural and organic cosmetics association, has appointed Professor Florian Stintzing as its new president.
Stintzing (pictured, left), who is head of science and a board member of German cosmetics and pharmaceuticals manufacturer Wala Heilmittel, succeeds Bernhard Irrgang, head of R&D natural and organic cosmetics R&D at Weleda.
Stintzing previously served as NATRUE’s Vice-President and brings a wealth of experience in scientific research, product development, and association governance.
A food technology graduate from the University of Hohenheim, Stintzing has taught as an adjunct professor at his alma mater since 2010.
He joined Wala Heilmittel in 2007, where he became head of science in 2012 and was appointed to the Wala board in 2014.
“His deep scientific expertise, industry leadership, and long-standing dedication to natural product standards make him ideally positioned to lead NATRUE into its next phase of impact and innovation,” said a spokeswoman.
Jayn Sterland, managing director of Weleda UK, takes on the role of vice-president.
A passionate advocate for sustainability and corporate responsibility, Sterland (pictured, centre) is a widely recognised leader in the natural cosmetics industry.
“The election of our new president and vice-president is a pivotal moment for NATRUE,” said Dr Mark Smith, NATRUE’s Director-General (pictured, right).
“We are confident that their vision, complimentary expertise, and strong commitment to sustainability will strengthen NATRUE’s role as a global reference in the natural and organic beauty industry,” he added.
“We thank Dr Irrgang for his outstanding leadership and warmly welcome this next phase with Florian and Jayn at the helm.”
