Syrmise reports strong 2024 growth for cosmetic ingredients division

Symrise’s cosmetic ingredients division posted high single-digit growth in 2024, driven by strong demand for micro-protection and active & botanicals.

The German firm said sales in the Latin America region were particularly encouraging, achieving double-digit organic growth.

The Asia-Pacific and EAME (Europe, Africa, and the Middle East) regions increased sales by a single-digit percentage.

Only the North America region showed a slight year-on-year growth.

The application areas for Micro-Protection and Active & Botanicals recorded the strongest growth rates, it said.

Overall, Symrise’s group-wide 2024 sales were €5 billion ($5.2 billion), up €300m on 2023.

Full-year EBITDA of €1.033 billion was significantly above the previous year's figure of €903m.

In the 2024 financial year, the Scent & Care segment – which contains the cosmetic ingredients division - generated sales of €1.908 billion.

Scent & Care generated €347m EBITDA in 2024, which was 25.4% higher than in the previous year (€277m), mainly due to profitable sales growth and an efficiency programme initiated in early 2024.
