US personal care ingredient maker Nouryon has taken the wraps off Structure Silk starch, a readily biodegradable rheology modifier and texturizer for personal care formulations, at in-cosmetics Latin America in São Paulo, Brazil.
Developed in response to market trends for new, innovative textures and unique sensory experiences, Structure Silk starch is said to provide end-users with a final product featuring a luxurious, cushioned feel and bright luminosity for skin care, hair care and hair styling formulations.
In addition to efficient thickening, Structure Silk starch has a Renewable Carbon Index (RCI) greater than 90%, is readily biodegradable (per OECD 301B1) and is a non-genetically modified organism (GMO).
It is also cold-water processable and compatible with a wide range of commonly used ingredients in hair and skin applications, providing unmatched versatility and sustainability benefits.
“We are excited about the versatility of Structure Silk starch. It offers a bright, glossy emulsion and high clarity in aqueous systems,” said David Freidinger, Vice President of Personal Care and Pharma at Nouryon.
“Whether you’re creating a combing cream, styling gel or moisturizing facial cream, Structure Silk starch can help formulators differentiate their products in both texture and aesthetics, without compromising on performance," he added.
Nouryon is exhibiting at in-cosmetics Latin America at booth #G50 together with local distributor, Sarfam.
