Givaudan launches vegan botanical extracts for hybrid make-up

Givaudan Active Beauty has taken the wraps off a novel generation of active botanical extracts for make-up formulations.

The Swiss maker says its [N.A.S.] Vibrant Collection of 100% natural origin active extracts represents a significant breakthrough in both performance and skin benefits, ensuring colour stability and longevity.

Crafted through green fractionation, the [N.A.S.] Vibrant Collection comprises five potent natural extracts.

  • [N.A.S.] Curcuma 7409 – a soothing rhizome extract derived from Curcuma longa L.
  • [N.A.S.] Gardenia 2168 – an anti-ageing fruit extract derived from Gardenia florida L.
  • [N.A.S.] Spirulina 2183 – a brightening algae extract derived from Spirulina platensis G.
  • [N.A.S.] Radish 1805 - skin protection radish extract derived from the root of Raphanus sativus L.
  • [N.A.S.] Radish 2364 – an antiglycation radish extract derived from the root of Raphanus sativus L.

Highly concentrated in bioactive compounds, these powder extracts offer strong antioxidant properties.

“There is a growing need for ingredients specifically designed for hybrid make-up formulas - ingredients that can easily be incorporated into make-up,” said innovation and marketing director Fabrice Lefevre.

“By focusing efforts into the sourcing and supply chain of natural ingredients, Givaudan Active Beauty has identified four natural raw materials known for their strong antioxidant potential that also offer proven benefits for the skin, while sustaining make-up performance,” he added.
