The US Society of Cosmetic Chemists (SCC) has unveiled its latest model of cosmetic science education: the Certificate in Skin Care.
Certificate in Skin Care participants must complete a total of six courses, including three required courses and three elective courses.
With a focus on reinforcing the foundations of cosmetic science, participants will learn terminology, formulation techniques, and anatomy of the skin before broadening their knowledge through self-selected elective courses, all of which include a testing component for concept reinforcement.
Upon completion of the programme requirements, participants will submit a reflection of their programme experience and be awarded a Certificate of Completion in the specialized area of skin care.
“The SCC Certificate Programme leverages our vast educational resources in specialized areas of cosmetic science to provide participants with demonstrable achievement in their field,” said SCC chief executive Erica O’Grady.
“The Certificate in Skin Care is our first offering, with additional specialized areas currently under development,” she added.
Ongoing registrations are now available for the SCC Certificate Programme in Skin Care, with the courses opening on 8 July.
