Lubrizol Life Science Beauty (LLS Beauty) has launched Carbopol Fusion S-20 polymer, an inherently biodegradable rheology modifier that provides thickening, suspension and clarity similar to acrylates copolymer said to be ideal for skin cleansing and hair care applications.
It is also the first Carbopol polymer to address all 12 Principles of Green Chemistry in its manufacturing process.
Suitable for sulfate and sulfate-free surfactant chassis, Carbopol Fusion S-20 polymer has a smooth, honey-like flow that provides a light, soft sensory experience on the skin.
It performs similarly to Carbopol Aqua polymers, with good foam volume, creamy foam texture, pH flexibility and excellent rheology modification benefits.
It also suspends zinc pyrithione and silicone emulsions at low use levels with efficient viscosity.
Carbopol Fusion S-20 polymer addresses all 12 Principles of Green Chemistry in manufacturing, a framework for designing and improving materials, products and processes to reduce the impact of chemicals and their synthesis on the environment and health.
It is free from genetically modified organisms (GMOs), ethoxylated ingredients (EO), and polyethylene glycol (PEGs), has a low carbon footprint, and contains starch, a renewable resource with good traceability.
In a related development, LLS Beauty has introduced Zenerity biotech ingredient, an active ingredient that soothes skin inflammation while defying aging, even when exacerbated by an unhealthy diet.
The product, derived from a thermal spring in Italy and of 100% natural origin content, has been found to achieve a soothed, youthful and healthy skin appearance.
In vitro tests showed Zenerity biotech ingredient counteracted skin inflammation and the garb-aging process, while showing an anti-glycation effect, even under metabolic stress conditions.
Tests on volunteers showed the ingredient soothed sensitive skin, leaving it looking more luminous, healthier and younger. Immediate redness reduction was seen just 30 minutes after applying the product, and the number of dark spots were also reduced at the end of the treatment.
These positive effects were observed even when the volunteers were following an unhealthy diet. Volunteers also experienced more positive emotional states when using Zenerity biotech ingredient.
Meanwhile, LLS has also introduced Chromatic Rules, a new makeup concept that smartly combines various readily biodegradable and high natural origin content ingredients to deliver performance and texture versatility that the modern makeup routine demands.
