Swiss cosmetic actives maker Lipoid Kosmetik has revealed it will be showcasing two novel skincare ingredients at next month’s in-cosmetics Global trade show in Paris.
The first ingredient is BakuLipid, a COSMOS- and NATRUE-approved plant-based alternative to retinol for anti-ageing and anti-blemish applications; the other is PhytoSolve Astaxanthin, an active for antioxidant protection and anti-ageing formulations.
BakuLipid is based on the distinctive blend of bakuchiol and unsaturated phospholipids for skin penetration enhancement.
Lipoid Kosmetik says this combination makes BakuLipid optimally suited for the treatment of skin blemishes and age-related skin concerns significantly outperforming bakuchiol in vivo.
BakuLipid is not only a skin-friendly, plant-based retinol alternative but it also offers superior dermal penetration, reduced signs of blemished skin and improvement of age-related skin parameters
Meanwhile, PhytoSolve Astaxanthin is said to offer a synergistic complex comprising the powerful antioxidant astaxanthin and natural phospholipids.
This combination results in an advanced ingredient with excellent cosmetic effects.
The pre-formed emulsion is free of preservatives and can be added to any cosmetic formulation.
In vitro studies show PhytoSolve Astaxanthin enhances the antioxidant potential of the skin and has protective effects against skin ageing-related impact caused by UVB irradiation.
Moreover, it has shown a pronounced anti-wrinkle effect in an in vivo study and provided a healthier skin complexion.
Overall, the combination of astaxanthin with natural phospholipids makes PhytoSolve Astaxanthin an ideal ingredient for anti-wrinkle effects and protection against UV irradiation, says Lipoid Kosmetik.
The company will showcase the two new products at stand 1H35 during the in-cosmetics Global trade show on 16-18 April.
