French personal care ingredient maker Roquette Beauté has launched Beauté by Roquette ST 320, a plant-based versatile thickener and stabilizer designed for gels and emulsions.
The company says Beauté by Roquette ST 320 (INCI: Hydroxypropyl Starch Phosphate) meets the demand of consumers for natural-based cosmetic products that combine efficacy and pleasurable sensorial experiences.
The new ingredient is sourced from non-GMO maize, vegan suitable and biodegradable.
Roquette Beauté says tests were performed to demonstrate Beauté by Roquette ST 320 is easy to disperse in cold or warm water; has strong viscosity enhancement after cooking; and is very stable over time in both emulsions and gels.
“Beauté by Roquette ST 320 also acts as a sensory enhancer bringing comforting and cocooning textures to cosmetic formulations,” the company said.
“As consumers become more mindful of the impact of their beauty routines on their overall well-being, the trend towards holistic beauty continues to gain momentum in the beauty and personal care market.”
“With Beauté by Roquette ST 320, cosmetic formulators can tap into this trend by creating indulgent and soft textures that offer both efficacy and pleasurable sensorial experiences.”
