IFSCC extends abstracts deadline for 33rd Congress

The International Federation of Societies of Cosmetic Chemists (IFSCC) has extended the deadline to 31 December for abstract submission for next year’s 33rd Congress in Barcelona.

The theme of the four-day event, which runs from 4-7 September, is named ‘Rethinking Beauty Science’.

The IFSCC said this theme will serve as the “central axis to address the most current, novel and relevant scientific topics, while the pillars of cosmetic research for future years will be set”.

The theme is divided into three topics covering skin science, beauty and nature as follows:

  • Rethinking Skin Science: Skin, oral, sun and hair care: breakthrough technologies for cosmetic developments promoted by recent scientific research. New substances, new functions, new efficacies, new evaluation techniques.
  • Rethinking Beauty: Texture, odour and colour, multi-sensoriality. A strong added value to cosmetics, its impact on uses, consumers and marketing. Cosmetic and beauty product experiences backed up by technology.
  • Rethinking Nature: Responsible cosmetic development. What have we learned from nature? Towards the guarantee of safer cosmetic products.

Submissions will only be accepted via the Congress website at https://ifscc2023.com/abstract-submission.

Notification of abstract selection results will be sent by email by 30 April.

Registration for the 33rd IFSCC Congress is also open. Details can be found at https://ifscc2023.com/registration/
