German cosmetic ingredient supplier Rahn has won two Ringier Technology Innovation Awards in China for a pair of actives.
Liftonin-QI, which won in the Anti-ageing category, is based on the sustainably cultivated fungus Ganoderma lucidum – a mushroom used in traditional Chinese medicine.
The active is designed to protect skin from epigenetic stress “to promote a youthful and relaxed skin appearance and to provide outstanding lifting effect,” said Rahn.
The other Rahn award was for Defensil-Pure, which won in the Other category.
Defensil-Pure is designed to prevent undesired bacteria entering deeper layers of the stratum corneum (the outermost layer of the epidermis) and releasing toxins in people with very dry, atopic skin.
The active is obtained by high-tech fermentation of organic gold millet. It naturally balances the skin microbiota, strengthens the skin barrier and moisturises dry skin.
