US giant Johnson & Johnson (J&J) has suspended supply of its personal care products in Russia in response to the war in Ukraine.
J&J sells a range of personal care products under brand names including Neutrogena, Aveeno and Listerine.
The company said it would continue to supply medicines and medical devices to the region and is doubling its donation to support humanitarian assistance work from $5 million to $10 million.
In early March, J&J suspended all advertising, enrolment in clinical trials, and any additional investment in Russia.
“We remain steadfast in our support – inclusive of job security, transport, lodging and financial assistance – for our employees and their families in Ukraine,” it said in statement.
“Above all, we continue to hope for rapid resolution, and we will continue to monitor the need for additional humanitarian relief.”
According to Reuters, around 1% of J&J’s global sales are made in Russia.
J&J’s move follows earlier moves by other personal care companies including L’Oréal, Estée Lauder and Sephora to pull back from Russia.
