New CEO at Prime Matter Labs

Prime Matter Labs, a Florida-based contract manufacturer of beauty and personal care products, has appointed Aaron Paas as its new CEO.

Outgoing CEO and co-founder Mohamed Barakat will work with him in the coming months to transition responsibility for operations and strategy at the company, which has been owned by Monogram Capital Partners since January 2020.

Paas joined Prime Matter as chief revenue officer two years ago, during which time it has doubled its workforce and expanded from Miami to own facilities in New York and southern California. He has spent his career in the packaged consumer goods and technology sectors, beginning with Procter & Gamble, later moving to Etsy and starting his own personal care brand, Wildist.

“We are at an exciting time in the evolution of the beauty and personal care landscape and our product development and production platform will be a key driver of innovation and growth for our brand partners, some of the most important consumer brands in their categories,” Paas said.

By significantly expanding its operational capacity, creating a first of its kind product development software platform, and putting R&D and innovation at the core of everything it does, he added, “Prime Matter Labs is removing some of the biggest obstacles that remain for rapidly growing brands as they look for a partner to support their growth”.
