Beiersdorf enters post-acne markets

Beiersdorf’s dermocosmetics brand, Eucerin, is starting the global launch of two additional products from its Dermopure series for acne-prone skin

Beiersdorf’s dermocosmetics brand, Eucerin, is starting the global launch of two additional products from its Dermopure series for acne-prone skin. The company says that a combination of these “offers an effective solution to reduce and prevent post-acne marks and blemishes and to control shine”.

“By focusing on post-acne marks, we are entering a completely new market. This skin condition affects large numbers of people worldwide, with a severe impact on their psychological well-being,” said Patrick Rasquinet, a member of the company’s executive board for pharmacy and selective brands

Dermopure Triple Effect Serum contains thiamidol, which counteracts and reverses post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation that can occur in acne sufferers by addressing the root cause, which is the formation of excess melanin in the skin. This is the first time thiamidol has been used in acne treatment. The product also contains salicylic acid to reduce blemishes.

Dermopure Protective Fluid SPF 30, meanwhile, contains filters to block UVA and UVB with a sun protection factor of 30, plus antibacterial decanediol to help prevent blemishes. Both products also contain licochalcone A to prevent new blemishes from appearing and sebum regulation technology to leave the skin with a long-lasting matte look.
