Protection from the sun’s rays is now recognised as one of the key components of a comprehensive anti-ageing strategy. Traditionally, UV (ultraviolet) rays were thought to be the sole contributing factor to skin ageing, it is now understood that infrared (IR) rays also play a part in premature ageing of skin.
As a result, ingredients manufacturers are now releasing products that show efficacy in reducing the impact of IR rays.
People are now also becoming aware of the importance of re-application and how the benefits of sun protection can be lost through water and wear.
