Biomimetic ceramide as hair restructuring agent

Hair products currently on the market are based on increasingly specialised, innovative and high-tech formulations and product ranges - similar to products launched on the skin care market in recent years.

Based on this fact, the Solabia Group, which has focused on the three skin barriers to date, wanted to diversify its range by targeting the hair system with the development of Rep’hair: a biomimetic ceramide to reinforce hair fibre.

The hair system: the first protective barrier

As you are no doubt aware, our skin is classed as a cutaneous ecosystem derived from a dynamic, triple-action protective system made up of layers comprising a microbiological barrier (ecoflora), a physical barrier (stratum corneum) and a biological barrier (epidermis+dermis). But what you may not know is that a fourth barrier exists. This is essential for the wellbeing of your skin but is unfortunately all too often overlooked, namely the hair barrier. We should really discuss the first barrier since it is in fact the first one to be exposed to the environment and its harmful consequences.
