Preparation:

In secondary vessel combine 1-6, start mixing, add 7, 8, and 9, and when uniform add 10 and 11. [Note: additional processing required to properly disperse 7, 8, and 9.] Then heat this oil phase to 90°C. Add 12 through 16 in order with continued mixing of oil phase. To the main vessel add 17, start mixing, add 18 and, when dissolved, add 19. Heat this water phase to 87°C. In a separate vessel combine 20, 21 and 22, mix to homogeneity, and then add to the water phase just prior to combining oil and water phases. When oil and water phases are uniform and at the defined temperatures, add the oil phase to the water phase with continued mixing. After ten minutes switch to homogenization and start slow cooling. When the batch reaches 55°C, stop homogenizing and resume sweep mixing. When the batch is at 50°C add 23. In a separate vessel combine 24 and 25, mix until homogeneous, and then add to batch. When the batch is again uniform add 26. Continue cooling and stirring until a smooth, homogeneous lotion and at the desired filling temperature. Perform final quality assurance checks.
