Preparation:
1. PART A: Mix PART A ingredients, heat to 75°C. 2. PART B: Mill pigments (ingredient 6, 7, and 8) in propylene and butylene glycol, mix until homogenous. 3. PART C: Mix Glucate™* SSE-20 emulsifier with water and heat to 50°C. 4. With continuous mixing, slowly add PART B into PART C. Heat to 75°C. 5. Add PART A to main batch with good agitation and continue mixing until homogenous. Maintain temperature of 75°C, homogenize at 3,000 rpm for several minutes (by Silverson homogenizer). 6. Cool batch to 60-70°C, add Carbopol®* Aqua SF-1 OS polymer with agitation. Mix until uniform. 7. Cool batch to 50-60°C, neutralize with Triethanolamine to pH of 6.8-7.0. 8. Cool batch to less than 40°C, add ingredient 15 (preservative), mix until uniform.Notes:
Schercemol™* CO ester provides a light, non-oily feel which transitions nicely into the slightly more substantive but still non-greasy aesthetics of Schercemol™* 318 ester. Glucate™* SS emulsifier’s sesquistearate chemistry helps in reducing tackiness and gloss and gives a drier afterfeel.
