Preparation:

Combine A and mill this color grind over a three-roll mill twice, or as necessary to reduce the particle size to below 20 microns. In the main vessel, combine B and start mixing. Heat to 85°C, then add C. When fully dispersed, add the color grind (A) with continued mixing. Add D in order and heat to 90°C. Add E in order, maintaining temperature and mixing. Add F to a finishing vessel and begin slow homogenization. Disperse G in H and add when uniform. Heat to 85–90°C and maintain with slow homogenization for 15 minutes. Disperse I in J and add when a smooth dispersion. When finishing vessel contents are smooth and homogeneous, add K in order. Add deionized water as needed to correct for evaporative loss and then reheat to 85–90°C. Add main vessel contents at 90°C to finishing vessel contents at 85–90°C while homogenizing at moderate speed. Homogenize for ten minutes, then start cooling with continued homogenization. When batch is at 60°C, add L. When batch is at 55°C, again correct for any evaporative loss with deionized water. When batch is at 50°C, slowly add M. Maintain slow homogenizer agitation until batch is smooth and at desired filling temperature (30°C). Perform final quality assurance tests and package product.
